Karen is the Manager of the First Floor of the Main Library, Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. She spent the summer 2004 leading an intensive training and planning program, where she encouraged staff members to contribute ideas, take risks, and work in teams. The New and Featured First Floor focuses on the customer: from readers' advisory services to information access, from signage to user interfaces on the computer, the emphasis is on making the library experience as easy and beneficial as possible. In 2006, she was named a Mover and Shaker by Library Journal. |
